Months of meticulous planning culminated in a high energy North America Connect – in attendance were 120+ Josephites and their families, batches ranging from 1963 to 2014 – all the way from India, United Kingdom, Canada, and across the United States. The banquet on Sat, May 26 was held at the Hyatt Regency in Dulles, Virginia. The event included custom OBA 100 giveaways, cocktails, appetizers, dinner, dessert, a photo booth, video messages from teachers and staff, and dancing. The MC, Samir Stewart ‘89, brilliantly energized the crowd and flawlessly conducted the event. He introduced Nitin Pereira ‘97, who delivered the welcome address and thanked the generous sponsors; Fabian Correia ’63, who reminisced about the school days and led the crowd to sing the School Song; and Jimmy Anklesaria ‘72, who stressed the importance of giving back and highlighted fundraising goals.
Custom memorabilia were available for purchase along with a showcase of the auction items, a cricket bat and pair of gloves autographed by Rahul Dravid. A picnic was held at Lake Fairfax Park on Sun, May 27, which turned out to be a fun filled day with games, including a nail biting football match, lunch and networking. Kudos to the batch of 1977 who had the largest turnout of 15 Old Boys. It was an event to remember, thanks to the organizing committee: Prathima Appaji ’09, Kamran Abbas ’08, Nikhil Mascarenhas ’07, Pradeep Menon ’83, Navin Pothan ’97, Nanjappa Palekanda ’97 and Nitin Pereira ’97.
